Kremke Soul Wool
Yarns chosen for material character and the pleasure of knitting
- German roots
- Natural-fibre options
- Recycled ranges
- Vegan options
Kremke Soul Wool offers yarns with an emphasis on fibre character and the experience of making. Its collection includes natural-fibre materials as well as recycled ranges and animal-free options. The name describes a particular approach to yarn selection, but it does not mean that every product contains wool or that every range has the same composition.

Why the founders chose Soul Wool
Britta and Carsten Kremke founded the brand after considering the name Kremke Slow Wool. Their official account draws a connection with the idea of enjoying a process rather than simply reaching an outcome. Britta’s background included knitting in her mother’s shop in Hamburg and later running a yarn shop herself.
The final name kept that focus on material and making. It is useful context for a collection whose yarns are intended to have distinct identities rather than being interchangeable basics.
Natural fibres and newer material options
The current Kremke collection extends beyond the natural-fibre focus described in its early brand story. Its official catalogue includes recycled fibres and vegan qualities alongside wool, alpaca and other animal-fibre materials. The Reborn names are associated with recycled ranges, but each product still needs its own composition check.
For a knitter choosing an animal-free material, this distinction matters. “Soul Wool” is a brand name, while the label establishes whether a yarn contains animal fibres. Similarly, a recycled component does not tell you the entire fibre breakdown or the treatment of the finished strand.
Choose an alternative by the role the yarn plays in a project. A fine strand used alone, a recycled blend for a sweater and a yarn held with mohair present different requirements. Compare gauge and length with the actual construction, then assess a washed sample. Keep the full product name attached so that an older range is not confused with a later version.

Vragen over Kremke Soul Wool
Wassen, garendiktes, natuurlijke vezels en vervangende garens — antwoorden op basis van de garens van Kremke Soul Wool in onze catalogus.
Who founded Kremke Soul Wool?+
Britta and Carsten Kremke founded the brand. Its official account describes Britta’s yarn-shop background and the founders’ interest in enjoying the knitting process.
Does every Kremke Soul Wool yarn contain wool?+
No. The current collection includes animal-free options as well as animal-fibre yarns. Check the individual product’s composition; “Wool” in the brand name is not a fibre declaration.
Does Kremke offer recycled yarns?+
Yes. Its current catalogue includes recycled ranges. Read the full composition for the particular product rather than assuming that all Reborn yarns use the same fibres or percentages.
Is the Soul Wool shop name identical to the yarn brand?+
Soul Wool is also used by the associated retail shop, which offers products from several brands. A shop listing is not enough to identify a yarn’s manufacturer; check the brand and full product name.
