1. What YarnPair is

YarnPair is an independent comparison and information service for knitting and crochet yarn. We collect technical data, colourways and prices from yarn brands and webshops and present them side by side, and our matching engine suggests substitute yarns when the one you want is unavailable or discontinued. YarnPair is not a shop. We do not sell yarn, take payment for yarn, hold stock or handle delivery or returns. When you click a "buy" or "visit shop" link you leave YarnPair and enter into a contract with the third-party shop. Their terms, prices and policies apply to your purchase.

2. Independence and affiliate links

Some links to shops are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the shop may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how YarnPair is funded. Affiliate relationships never influence our matching engine, our substitute suggestions or which prices we show. The cheapest available price is always shown, regardless of commission. Shop quality signals may only be used to break ties between otherwise equal options.

3. Prices and availability

Prices, stock status and offers are collected from the shops' own sites and updated regularly, but they can change at any time. The price shown at the shop's checkout is always the binding one. We are not responsible for price errors, sold-out items, shipping costs, customs or delivery times at third-party shops.

4. Matches and substitutes

Our substitute suggestions are calculated from technical data: gauge, meterage, fibre composition, needle size, texture and care. They are guidance, not a guarantee. Always knit or crochet a gauge swatch before starting a project with a substitute yarn. Dye lots, fibre behaviour and fabric drape vary, and only you can judge whether a substitute works for your project. We accept no liability for projects that do not turn out as expected.

5. Accounts and content locking

Some features — saving yarns, building a stash, price alerts — require a free account or an unlocked e-mail. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for the accuracy of the data you enter (e.g. your stash contents). We may suspend accounts that are misused.

6. Acceptable use

You may use YarnPair for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not: - scrape, crawl or bulk-download our catalogue, matches or price data, - reverse-engineer the matching engine, - attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or admin functions, - use the service in a way that violates applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The YarnPair name, logo, design, matching engine and editorial content belong to us. Yarn names, brand names, product images and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification and comparison purposes only.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the site is uninterrupted or error-free, that catalogue data is complete, or that a substitute yarn will behave like the original. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss arising from use of the service is limited to direct losses and excludes indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

9. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page; material changes will be flagged on the site. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law and contact
