Ein 2005 gegründetes Unternehmen

Ivar A. Ullebust gründete Viking of Norway am 19. Oktober 2005 mit vorheriger Erfahrung in der norwegischen Textilindustrie. Das Unternehmen sitzt in Oltedal, dessen Verwaltungsumgebung mit der lokalen Wollindustriegeschichte verbunden ist.

Die frühere Laufbahn des Gründers ist nicht das Alter der Marke: Deren Gründungsdatum ist 2005. Auch die Fasern fertiger Kleidung legen nicht die Zusammensetzung sämtlicher Viking Garn-Garne fest.

Alpaca Storm und feinere Begleitqualitäten

Alpaca Storm enthält 40% superfeines Alpaka, 40% Merinowolle und 20% Nylon. Alpaca Liten Storm verwendet dieselbe Mischung in einem feineren Garn mit anderer Lauflänge und Maschenprobe. Liten bezeichnet damit einen praktischen Unterschied, nicht nur einen anderen Namen oder eine Farbe.

Laut offiziellen Angaben wird Alpaca Liten Storm in Peru hergestellt. Ein norwegischer Firmenname ist daher keine Produktionslandangabe für die Kollektion. Markenstandort, Faserherkunft und Herstellung sind getrennte Informationen.

Viking-Anleitungen können Garne kombinieren. Ein Pullover aus Alpaca Storm und Kid Silk benötigt beim Ersatzvergleich beide Fäden als ein Gewebe. Die Maschenprobe des Hauptgarns allein reproduziert weder Oberfläche noch Stärke der Kombination.

Nutze vollständigen Garnnamen und tatsächliche Fadenanweisungen. Vergleiche dann Mischung, Gesamtlauflänge und gewaschene Maschenprobe. Ähnliche Namen sind Suchhilfen, machen die Garne aber nicht austauschbar.
