For amigurumi, a replacement should give a dense fabric that holds its shape in the chosen stitch. A similar length and fibre are helpful starting points, but the sample also needs to suit the pattern’s shaping. For garments and other Rico projects, use the relevant yarn’s own specifications rather than carrying assumptions over from Ricorumi.
